As promised, my yearly Easter run-down. For Holy Week, I attend 5 services because I lend my voice to the choir.

Holy Thursday (top left) - Navy lace cut out shift dress from Black Dog. When I saw this, I knew I had to have it. It is simple, yet classy and wearable several ways. My original plan was to wear navy tights, which I bought, but I must have bought smalls because I could not get them over my knees! EEEEK! Therefore, I had to wear the only pair of dark hose I had. I prefer opaque, but in a pinch, you do with what you have! I wore back booties from Nasty Gal. Layered Premier necklaces and black wire Premier earrings. <What I wore LAST YEAR>

Good Friday (top right) - This was a find! While looking for something specific, I stumbled on this great maxi dress. I thought it had hanger appeal, but once I tried it on, SOLD. I normally will shy away from horizontal striping, but the black vertical borders made it very slimming and the fabric is fabulous. I slimmed my waist with a Banana Republic belt. Shoes, ZigiSoho black platforms (not pictured). My earrings were very sparkly black/gray/white ombre teardrop dangles from Cache that I was able to snag up at about 80% off during there ‘going out of business’ sale. Skinny by Jessica Elliot equestrian bracelet and my Tiffany charm bracelet. <What I wore LAST YEAR>

Easter Vigil (bottom left) - This is service is part by candlelight and I feel more formal. I found this off-white geometric shift dress on clearance at Target. I wore off white fishnets and Vince Camuto metallic blush heels. Geometric enamel and crystal necklace from JewelMint. Doubled up my Kate Spade “Tune In” bangles and Premier bangles. Brushed gold and pearl dangle earrings from Premier. <What I wore LAST YEAR>

EASTER (bottom right) - I actually purchased this Trina Turk “in love” dress last May! I put it on my wish list and when I saw it go on sale, SOLD! I knew then it would be one of my Easter choices. I paired it with a black peplum short jacket and Steve Madden tropical heels. I wore an ice cream scoop pendant necklace from Kate Spade and black stone drop earrings. <What I wore LAST YEAR>

As for me and this house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

Blessing our home with scripture was one of the most exciting and fulfilling moments we have had as a family!! I highly recommend this activity with your family if you are building or plan to build.

I spent a few weeks gathering specific scriptures, printed out page after page of verses, grabbed sharpies and we were on our way to our forever home. I strategically placed scripture where I thought they were suitable throughout the house, on walls, floors, over doorways and entryways. I let my twins pick the ones they wanted in their bedrooms and they were also involved with writing them on the walls, floors and window ledges throughout. What a great way to show them the way of Christ…that HE is ever-present in our life and in our home.

My most favorite is in my twin girls bathroom, which will also be stenciled onto the painted wall after we move in. Not only will the house hold the blessing, but they can also be reminded of it everyday.

~It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God. 1 Peter 3:3-4~

I also wrote the Beatitudes on the stairs….another favorite!!

Matthew 5:3-10 - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

In June, our home will receive a final blessing. Upon our move in we will invite our Priest to bless our new home. I know that will be a tearful and joyous time as well.

Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Prayer is powerful and He listens to you. Sometimes, it takes moments….sometimes years for prayer to be answered, if it’s His will. I married my husband in 2000, after 5 years of dating. We bought our first brand new “starter home” after our honeymoon. We found out three months later I was pregnant, with twins! SURPRISE! My girls are now 12 and as of September 2013, we still owned that home. We have made some amazing memories there and it will always be a special home, but we outgrew it years ago! In September, we made the decision to sell and move in with the in-laws (bless their hearts), with plans save and buy an existing home in June. In January, we found out building was an option. I was so excited! Let me preface this by saying, that the past 5 years, I have prayed and prayed and prayed…and prayed for a new home and I always said and prayed for, “before my 40th year ended”. January 16th, 2014, we picked out a lot, a house plan and gave our earnest money. On January 17, 2014….ONE DAY later, I turned 41. So, let me repeat that verse, Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4  Needless to say….I do thank HIM and will continue to, everyday!!
